A.C.E. BASIN & MONKEY ISLAND TOURS

A Truly Unique Experience!

On the north side of Beaufort is a vast, beautiful place know as the A.C.E. Basin. Dolphins, birds, and monkeys are abundant in the A.C.E. Basin! Wait… Monkeys? Yes, more than 3000 rhesus monkeys live on Morgan Island known locally as “Monkey Island.” All this combined makes for a pretty unique boat tour.

  • All trips are private (not shared) experiences

  • We can not guarantee seeing monkeys as they occasionally stay back in the trees but the best chances of seeing them is first thing in the morning and in the evening, especially around sunset.

To explore the A.C.E. Basin and to see Monkey Island we use our six passenger boat “Little Beaufort” and meet at a boat ramp on St. Helena Island that is close to our destination. We can also use this boat for other adventure trips like our Boat Tour & Beach Adventure. For those that want to get more adventurous, we can show you any part of Beaufort County that you want to see.

We greatly enjoyed learning the history of the area and seeing several dolphins as well as learning about them and their behaviors. We also saw and learned about 20 different bird species.
